• 10/9/26 2:30 PM ET We are currently monitoring the tropics for potential impacts from Category 3 Hurricane Isaias. Guests who are currently checked-in for the week of checking-in on 10/10 please keep an eye on your e-mail for updates. In an effort to protect our crews and keep everyone safe we have made the decision to delay Saturday check-ins until Sunday. Refer to your e-mails and let us know via reply to those e-mails if you have any questions. Teresa hopes to be in contact with you all on Saturday to let you know a status update.
• Expected impacts in Gulf County include the unpredictable potential for severe storm bands, that could include flash flooding, strong winds, and tornadoes which could lead to temporary power and water outages. We have recently had a significant amount of rain in the panhandle so flash flooding during the direct impacts of the storm is a very real concern as is storm surge impacting the rock wall during the highest tides of the storm. FDOT has always been very responsive and gets the road cleared and back open very quickly once the water recedes. Typically speaking we are not looking at a total wash out. Just short periods of time where water is over the road.
• Guests who arrive 10/17 or later- Please know we understand you are concerned about your vacations. In the event that your vacation will be impacted by anything relating to this storm we will be in contact individually. Otherwise everything will be “business as usual” for your vacation week. Storms are not uncommon in Florida and we usually face at least one a year. Please keep an eye on this website for updates regarding the storm, impacts to the cape, and other helpful information. That will help keep our e-mail inboxes clear for emergency notifications and currently exiting and incoming guests for the current weekend. We appreciate your understanding and concern for our area and your stays.

Watches & Warnings

What is a Watch vs a Warning? A watch means the conditions are favorable where as a warning meanings conditions are imminent.

• 10/9/2026 2:30 PM ET – Gulf County is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning, Storm Surge Warning, High Surf Warning, Flood Watch, Tornado Watch and a potentially deadly Rip Current warning.
• Bay County (Mexico Beach) is currently under a Hurricane Warning, Storm Surge Warning, High Surf Warning, Flood Watch and Tornado Watch.
• Beach Flags are currently DOUBLE RED which means the water is closed to the public. The flags are not currently flying due to the expected storm so please keep an eye on the South Gulf Florida fire department website for updates. They’ll put them back up once the winds calm down.
• Please look to official resources for the most up-to-date information in the event that I am unable to keep this website updated.

Evacuation Status

• 10/8/2026 2:30 PM ET There are currently no involuntary or mandatory evacuation orders impacting any our homes.
• RVs are under a mandatory evacuation at specific and vulnerable RV parks. Please heed to official sources for this information as we do not manage any RV lots.
• The State Parks in Gulf County are CLOSED.
• Please look to official sources for the most up-to-date information, especially in the event that I am unable to keep this web page updated.

• ***Ross Whitley Meteorologist Facebook Page– Used to be a local Panama City Meteorologist. He still does tropical updates and gives GREAT information on facebook. He got us through Michael and continues to be loyal to helping the panhandle Navigate the Tropics without the drama.
• ***James Spann Facebook Page – AMS Certified Chief Meteorologist and Social Media Personality. Basically he is one of the GOAT in his field! Founded the Alabama Weather Network which has saved countless lives during severe tornadic outbreaks.

• ***Gulf County Sheriff’s Department App*** – I recommend downloading this app and turning on weather & emergency notifications. It will alert you of any watches, warnings, or evacuations. You may even know before I have a chance to call you!
